To Rent a Car from the Port of Hilo
- Avis, Budget, and Payless offer Airport Shuttle from the Port of Hilo (The Hilo Airport is where you pick up and return your car). Please confirm shuttle service operation times with local car rental company office.

Your Day Begins with Pick-up at the Port of Hilo. Next, your Driver will transport you Bike Volcano Headquarters in Volcano Village. You will be fitted for your E-Bike, given a safety lecture and equipment orientation, conduct a GPS Audio App Activation check (smartphone required), then off you go on your GPS Audio E-Bike Tour of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Lava Viewing area.
Your amazing adventure begins as you E-Bike to National Park bike trail entrance less than 1 mile from Bike Volcano headquarters. Our GPS APP (smartphone required) will guide you to spectacular viewpoints to witness the immense Kilauea Volcano’s Caldera and its newly transformed Halema’uama’u Crater and spectacular Active Lava Lake (volcano dependent).
As you E-Bike around the rim of the summit crater on paved roads and trails you will hear the serenade of exotic native Hawaiian birds while you bike though lush native Hawaiian Rain Forests, feel the heat of the volcano at the steam vents, and see Active Lava. Our Audio Tour will give you a Interpretation of all the main park points of interest providing you with local insight, cultural and eruption facts, and Hawaiian legends.
For the perfect day E-Bike the western half of the crater first, then have lunch at the spectacular Volcano House Rim Restaurant, literally perched on the edge of Kilauea Volcano’s Caldera. Or, pack a fresh deli sandwich from the Kilauea General Store (located next to Bike Volcano’s headquarters) and have lunch on trail.
Following lunch, bike the Rainforest side of the Kilauea Volcano’s Caldera, Devastation Trail, and visit the closest viewpoint of the Active Lava Lake before returning to Bike Volcano headquarters.
